The Alaska BBQ Association is excited to be able to offer various “Sponsorship Packages” depending on the level of your contribution.  Below is a description of what will be included in the various packages along with other items that are needed.  Your sponsorship donations would go towards prize money, advertising, items needed to run competitions during the year, plaques, team packages, etc…

The Association has several events scheduled through out the summer but our largest event is the Alaska BBQ Association’s State Championship.  In the past we have had teams from the Lower 48, restaurant owners and local chefs compete. 

Your company will be well recognized at this event by being on our banner, T-shirts, flyers and the AKBBQA Web site.  This annual event will qualify the winning team for the Annual Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue competition in Lynchburg, Tennessee later in the fall.  Winners have taken our banners to invitational competitions in the past to display.   Over the last two years local teams have traveled to Tennessee and have placed in several categories at the competition.  We are very proud!  

Unique to this event is the Alaskan Seafood Championship Competition.  Judges go to each Teams site where they are wined, dined and treated to some gourmet cooking by some very talented competitors.   

Governors of Alaska give the BBQ Championship awards at the annual Governor’s Day Picnic. Governor Sean Parnell gave our awards in 2010 and will give them again in 2011.  In years past Former Governor’s Sarah Palin and Frank Murkowski have given the awards. 

We are still fairly young but we would like to focus on increasing our memberships, having more competitions throughout the year and cash prizes.   Your sponsorship would give you the opportunity to help and grow with us.  We certainly have the potential of becoming as well known as Kansas City BBQ, Jack Daniels, Memphis in May, etc… We are Alaska after all!!  There are many opportunities to participate.  You could become a judge or you could develop a team to represent your company.

·         Your company’s name and logo on the AKBBQA banner which is displayed on the Riverboat Nenana @ Pioneer Park the weekend of the competition

·         You may select and send 2 people to eat and judge the Alaska Seafood competition

·         8 invitations to the Sponsor Dinner, Saturday evening (all of the sponsors and contestants enjoy an evening of food and music)

·         6 Alaska BBQ Association Championship T-shirts

·         1 free Team entrance fee for the Alaska State BBQ Championship Competition (Your company can enter 1 Team free)

Gold Package  $1000-$2000

·         Your company name on advertising, T-Shirts and programs

·         Our Web site will have a link for your company

·         6 invitations to the Sponsor Dinner, Saturday evening  (all of the sponsors and contestants enjoy an evening of food and music)

·         4 Alaska BBQ Association Championship T-shirts

·         1 free Team entrance fee for the Alaska State BBQ Championship  (Your company can enter 1 Team free)

Silver $500-$1000

·         Our Web site will have a link for your company

·         Company name in programs
